Our P.L.C. met face-to-face Feb. 23rd to plan for the D.P.S. I.L.T. Share Fair on April 9th. We were led by joined by Leslie Maniotes, who graciously assisted us by offering support, answering questions, and guiding us to find our main focus for the presentation.
We will have 20 minutes to present. Here are some of the things we discussed:
Model using Skype and Mikogo screen sharing as a professional development tool.
Discuss the pros and cons (it's free, independent of a browser, platform issues, limitations on the depth of conversation)
Explain how would using this platform help with instruction?
Continue to develop the Wiki and post ideas for use.
Dr. Candy Stocker created an awesome website using JogtheWeb.com which presents 60 web 2.0 tools in 60 seconds. We thought we might model using Skype and Mikogo to demonstrate how to use a Web 2.0 tool. Digital photos were taken of the group. BubbleShare was used to create a Bubble Slider for our Wiki home page! It's that easy!
Our next meeting will be March 9th at 5:00 pm via Skype. Our focus will be to "iron out" any problems or glitches we're having, make sure the laptops we're taking to the Share Fair are working properly, and prepare for our presentation.
